Burgundy, A classic cast iron pot from the Monte series. Due to the excellent heat capacity of cast iron, it is ideal for casseroles and slow cooking. It also has a thick base, so the contents do not burn easily. The lid has small spikes which allows for even and gentle distribution of the water vapour from condensation over the contents – a self-basting feature. It has a black enamel interior with larger pores and a slightly rougher surface. Over time, the pores fill with oil and a non-stick patina forms just as with raw cast iron. Suitable for all types of hobs, including induction hobs.
